Birding
The biggest attraction at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park is the Spring Warblers and migration. You will be able to add numerous warblers to your list along with many sightings of American Redstarts. One of the most overlooked areas for birdwatching is the asphalt road leading from the May Lodge to the two-bedroom cottages. You will find many species of birds year round in this area. Another area, especially for eastern bluebirds, would be the Jenny Wiley Executive Golf Course.
Trails
Acquaint yourself with the natural beauty of Jenny Wiley State Resort on the hiking trails. The trails provide over ten miles of hiking for all ability levels. The Jenny Wiley Trail Heritage Byway embraces a 154-mile loop drive in Eastern Kentucky. The route provides easy access to more than 60 miles of existing recreational facilities, such as hiking trails.
Bicycling
Visitors can explore the park's terrain on two wheels, but should be aware of potential challenges.

The 9-mile Dawkins Line Rail Trail offers a scenic ride for cyclists.

Mountain bikers may enjoy tackling Sugar Camp Mountain’s challenging trails spanning over 20 miles.

Bike rentals are not available within the resort; visitors must bring their own equipment or rent from nearby vendors.

Cyclists need to follow all safety rules and respect trail signs due to varying difficulty levels across different paths.

Helmets are strongly recommended as some areas have steep inclines and rough surfaces that could pose risks.

Remember: always stay hydrated during your bike rides especially in hot weather conditions.
Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is an 1,100-acre lake where guests can rent pontoon boats and fishing boats from the marina during warm weather months. The marina also provides boat slips for those bringing their own watercrafts. Canoeing and kayaking are other popular activities on the lake with rentals available as well.
